DIACAP Certification and Accreditation Process-Executive Overview (DS3IA827)
Course Content: This executive level overview is designed to help the ISO and other INFOSEC professionals understand the Department of Defense Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) as outlined in the Department of Defense Instruction 8510.01, November 28, 2007; DoDD 8500.1, Information Assurance (IA), October 24 2002, and DoDI 8500.2, Information Assurance (IA) Implementation, February 6, 2003.
This instruction provides an executive level overview of current policy, laws, guidance, definitions and terms, a brief overview on the evolution of automated information system (IS) security, roles and responsibilities, and an awareness of threats, vulnerabilities, and risk management as they apply to availability, integrity, confidentiality, and accountability (to include authenticity and non-repudiation) in the C&A process. The five DIACAP activities are discussed and implementation and applicability to the ISO are detailed within this course.
Length: 4.5Hours
Prerequisites: There are no mandatory prerequisites for the courses described in this catalog.
however, it is desirable that students have a basic understanding
of computer PC operations.
Class Size: There is a minimum class size
of six (6) and a maximum number of ten (10) students
for each class offered.
