Network+ Certification Training (DS3IA710)

Course Content: This course prepares students for CompTIA Network+ certification exam (2005 objectives). It covers networking concepts and configurations, the OSI model, working with network-related hardware, network configuration with TCP/IP, network operating system basics, fault tolerance and backup issues, and troubleshooting hardware and software problems.

During this 5-day course, students will learn:

Basic networking concepts	Identifying network operating system features	TCP/IP fundamentals
The OSI model	Network clients	TCP/IP addressing and subnetting
Network adapters	Directory services	Name resolution
Introducing protocols	Accessing and managing resources in a Windows network	Firewalls and proxies
Network cabling and devices	Monitoring and troubleshooting a Windows server	Troubleshooting network connectivity
Internetworking components	Managing and troubleshooting NetWare network resources	Troubleshooting
Remote and WAN connectivity	Fault tolerance and disaster recovery	Installing NetWare
Troubleshooting hardware components	Routine maintenance	Installing Windows Server 2003

Prerequisites: It is recommended that the student have at least nine months of experience in network support or administration or adequate academic training, and the A+ certification or equivalent knowledge

Note: This course can also be taught at your location. If taught at your location, course costs will also include travel and per diem for one instructor in accordance with the Joint Federal Travel Regulation.
